    Partnerships

VAFF has forged strong partnerships with

local and national organizations with shared

goals and a shared vision for the well-being

of our constituents. We work directly with

    the Set Neighborhood Alliance, a

    community based organization this identifies

and addresses specifically the needs of our

    community members.

    Educational Attainment and Advocacy

    VAFF advocates for

    educational achievement, and promotes new

    models of parent and community

involvement in neighborhood schools and in

    educational issues. Issues championed by

    VAFF include the implementation of

Haitian Dual Lingual programs in Palm

    Beach County Schools, increase

representation in the administration of our

school by hiring more staffers of Haitian

descents and who are proficient in Haitian

Creole, as well as bringing awareness to the

school board districts where parents and

    students are concerned.

    Employment Services

    Supportive services include re-employment

    support, resume preparation, and career

counseling to achieve a client’s stated career

goals. We aim to guide our community

    members towards preparedness for the

workplace, whether it be understanding job

applications, preparing for an interview or

learning how to re-enter the workforce.

    Additional support includes translating and

    assist in properly completing important

documents provided at the work place, such

as W4 for tax withholdings, 401(k)

    contributions, benefits, etc…

    Financial Capabilities:

VAFF provides a series of financial literacy

    workshops entitled designed to improve

understanding of, and access to, commonly

available financial products. We aim to

educate our community on subjects such as:

    Budget Management, Credit Cards,

Mortgages, Loans and an understanding of

    various financial products. Financial literacy

coaching tools are necessary to create

financial freedom, debt free lifestyle and

build upon opportunities for wealth building.

    Health Insurance Enrollment:

    VAFF provides enrollment assistance in

health insurance programs such as Medicaid,

    Medicare and the Affordable Marketplace

    Insurance. In addition, VAFF promotes

access to health services such through

activities such as outreach and education to

create a culture of prevention and to connect

    clients to necessary health

    services. Partnerships with local health

providers will also highlight the importance

    of healthy living.
